Commissioning a custom drawing or painting is a beautiful and unique way to celebrate your loved ones and capture a special moment in time. Each work of art is created with devotion to craft, artistry, and careful attention to detail.

The Commission Process

First the artist and client discuss the intended subject(s), artwork size, and any other considerations, such as the desired background or setting, mood or where the artwork will hang.

The artist generally meets the subject in person in order to take photo references and/or paint from life. In some cases, it is possible to work from your photographs if an in-person meeting is not an option.

The artist proposes multiple options for compositions, in some cases combining several photographs and altering details to create the best overall image. The client provides input and selects their favorite composition.

As the work nears completion, the client will have a chance to provide feedback for adjustments to ensure likeness and complete satisfaction with the painting, as agreed to in the initial project plan.
